The People of Price Nurseries - Meet Jim Kenny

We thought that it would be nice for all of you FB fans to get to know the People of Price Nurseries.  A lot of us have been here a LONG time, longer than we'd like to admit so many of you are already familiar with us but just in case, we'd like to introduce ourselves.

Jim Kenny is one of three owners here at Price Nurseries, having partnered with Tom McGee and Mark Goss back in 1990 when purchasing the nursery from Bob Price, nephew of our founder Ray Price.  Jim was born and raised on the south side of Chicago and graduated from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois where he studied Horticulture and Agronomy.  After college he worked in Lincoln for FS Farm Supply for a couple of years before re-locating to Plymouth in 1978 to work for Bob Price as his garden center manager.  While running the garden center, he also managed power equipment sales and service.  After the move to the King Road location, he manages the wholesale growing operation and a lot of the day-to-day business activities and serves officially as "The President".

Jim has been very active in the Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association (INLA) and served as its president in 2003 and 2004.  During those terms, some critical changes to the organization were implemented and he has been recognized from the organization for his service. Jim and his wife Margaret have raised 2 children, Elizabeth and Kevin, and now look forward to spending as much time as they possibly can with their 2 grandsons, Ilya and Alex.  Jim enjoys golfing and watching Purdue Basketball (Boiler UP!) and also finds time to give back to the community by being a member of the Plymouth Rotary and the Knights of Columbus.  He also serves as a CASA volunteer.

So, there you have it, an introduction to one of the owners of Price Nurseries....2 more to go!
